Abstrak

The research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, which is a method for improving teaching practices through repeated cycles of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study took place over two cycles. To gather information, the researchers gave speaking tests before the study started, after the first cycle, and after the second cycle. They also observed classes and talked to students and the teacher in interviews. For the numbers, they calculated average scores, looked at how many students met the minimum standard, and used statistical tests like paired-sample t-tests or nonparametric alternatives if needed. For the qualitative data, they grouped similar ideas together and checked them against other sources to make sure they were accurate. The results showed big improvements in speaking: the average score went from 57.76 before the study to 72.16 after the first cycle and then up to 78.56 after the second cycle. The percentage of students who met the minimum standard increased from 24% to 84%. The interviews and observations also showed that students were more involved, more confident, and talked more during classes. The study found that using CLT with games is a good way to improve speaking skills, especially in areas like fluency, vocabulary, and confidence. From a teaching perspective, this suggests that using games and focusing on real communication can create a more lively and student-centered classroom. However, the study had some limits, like a small number of students and a short time frame. Future studies should look at longer periods and different settings to confirm these findings
