An Analysis of Reading Comprehension Learning Strategies Used by English Teachers at SMP Nusantara Islamic School

This study aims to analyze the reading comprehension learning strategies used by English teachers at SMP Nusantara Islamic School. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through classroom observations, interviews, and a questionnaire. The subjects of the study consisted of one experienced English teacher who taught at the school. The results of the analysis showed that teachers used various strategies, including text-based approaches, group discussions, and the use of interactive media called Reciprocal Teaching and Question Answer Relationship (QARs) learning strategies to improve students' reading comprehension. In addition, this study also identified the challenges faced by teachers in implementing these strategies, such as time constraints and variations in student abilities. These findings are expected to provide insight into the development of more effective teaching methods in improving students' reading skills in Islamic educational environments
